The SulfaTrapTM-R2 family of sorbents are specifically formulated to remove THT and other organic sulfur compounds from natural gas and other hydrocarbon streams. These sorbents use a highly dispersed metal oxide phase deposited on the outer surface of a porous ceramic support. The R2 sorbents are moisture tolerant – up to 4,000 ppmv H2O – in most applications. These sorbents have been shown to reduce the total sulfur concentration of natural gas to single digit ppbv concentrations. The materials are safe to handle and easy to dispose of (it is not flammable or pyrophoric prior to use). It is highly tolerant to constituents of air (including oxygen, water vapor and carbon dioxide).
R2A
Low cost sorbent for gas streams. Primarily used for removal of light mercaptans.
R2B
Regenerable sorbent for gas streams and light hydrocarbon liquids (C3/C4). The material is regenerated by applying a mild temperature swing.
R2D
General sulfur removal from natural gas, with high removal efficacy – sulfur slippage below detectable limits (<4ppbv). Moisture tolerance (up to 4,000 ppmv H2O).
R2G
General sulfur removal from natural gas, with high removal efficacy – sulfur slippage below detectable limits (<4ppbv). Moisture tolerance (up to 4,000 ppmv H2O). Improved capacity for THT and mercaptans.
