SulfaTrap™ Offers Many Products to Treat Biogas
from Anaerobic Digestion, Bio-Waste Gasification, and Landfill Gas Recovery
Effective utilization of biogas as bio-methane or a feedstock to chemical conversion and power generation applications requires the removal of impurities such as sulfur (e.g., hydrogen sulfide, mercaptans, and disulfides) and siloxanes.
SulfaTrapTM-R7Q and SulfaTrapTM-R7J sorbents for treating the raw (wet) or dry biogas for H2S removal. SulfaTrap™-R8 sorbents are formulated as a moisture tolerant sorbent for removing mercaptans, COS, organic di-sulfides and tri-sulfides. SulfaTrap™-R8 can reduce the sulfur concentration in the biogas to low ppbv levels in one step.
Siloxanes are man-made organic compounds that contain silicon, oxygen and methyl groups used in personal hygiene and health-care products. At the wastewater treatment plants and landfills the low molecular weight siloxane species volatilize and contaminate the digester gas. SulfaTrap™-Si and SulfaTrap™-R8 sorbents remove the siloxanes from biogas without requiring refrigeration/chilling of the biogas.
Moisture Tolerant
SulfaTrap™-R8 is formulated as a moisture tolerant sorbent; it can achieve high sulfur capacity not only for hydrogen sulfide (H2S) but also for all mercaptans, organic di-sulfides and tri-sulfides, reducing the sulfur concentration in the biogas to low ppbv levels
Sulfur Concentration
SulfaTrap™-R8 can reduce the sulfur concentration in the biogas to low ppbv levels in one step - Siloxanes are man-made organic compounds that contain silicon, oxygen and methyl groups used in personal hygiene, health-care and industrial products - At wastewater treatment plants and landfills, the low molecular weight siloxane species volatilize and contaminate the digester gas
VOCs, Tars and Heavy Hydrocarbons
SulfaTrapTM-R8HB sorbent also removes VOCs, tars and heavy hydrocarbons that may be present in landfill gases
Siloxane Removal
SulfaTrap™-Si and modified SulfaTrap™-R8 sorbents remove siloxanes from biogas without applying any refrigeration or other complicated gas treatment processes
Bulk Removal of H2S
SulfaTrap™-R7Q / R7J sorbents are offered for bulk removal of H2S - The sulfur concentration in biogas can be very high (200 - 15,000 ppmv) and saturated with water (~5-8%-v H2O)
Halides and Cyanides
SulfaTrapTM-R2 series sorbents are highly effective for removing organic sulfur compounds, halides and cyanides, allowing the conversion of biogas to value-added biochemicals through biological processes
SulfaTrap offers full service engineering, design and construction services including modular fabrication, field services and material and process support.
